Heroes are hard to come by

Especially in this day and age

Because of you- I am still alive

Hail, the vanquisher of pain

I fought as long as I could have
But I sank into the weakness below
And I felt my sorrow's wrath
The helplessness took over

My fists let go
Of the resistance

I fell from hope
The light faded in the distance

It was all a dream
A wish...

A simple false belief
I hid...

Hands dangled frantically / Tears dripped endlessly
I needed a hero to save me / I yearned to be set free

A hand reached out
Held tight...

I was finally found
Relieved sigh...

I rose back to grace
And the darknes

I find myself in the sounds
I release my pain in the lyrics
Enveloping peace is found
The vibes calm my spirit

But when silence falls
Reality and time stop
And then my mind floods
With ever-consuming thoughts

The walls in my head break down
The serenity within goes silent
And every regret cries out
My memories become violent

I get this sensation
That my soul is too damaged

A dreadful realization
There's nothing left of me to salvage

Music is just a distraction
To blind myself from the carnage

I remain behind the destruction
Where darkness has the advantage

Remnants of rhyme hinder
Calling out to me once more

But I am willing to bet not many know it
Forming a poem is a simple task
Just string words on paper that seem to mask
Your hidden feelings on a certain subject
Or how you wish this world could be perfect

Not all poems have to be deep in meaning
And indeed even the simplest poems can be quite deceiving
This poem for example exists
Without any misdirection or twists
The focus of this poem is to provide
A helpful little guide
On how to write the absolute best
And bring out the skills everyone does possess

Faces Of Mine

A smile once so true
It changed direction over time
I knew it was there because of you
But it was just belief based from a lie

Hope cannot be granted
And then stripped away
You have left my core tainted
With these wicked games that you play

May it be a lesson
Or turn it into fact and truth
Love won't be as important
As I use these scars as my proof

These eyes were once so hopeful
It was considered the rise after the fall

But my tears became unfaithful
As pain plunged out of my skull

No passion for the heart / No light for the dark
No love for the liars / No guilt for the defilers
No truth for the corrupted / No solace for

Unseen by many

A barrier to hide away
Covering up my damaged sanity

I have to act a certain way
And pretend I still have a sense of humanity

But I know it's too late
So there is no restoring me

My bane is myself

My wounds will never heal
I am both heaven and hell

I fear my own reflection / I dread my own aggression
I am your ruination / I am your protection

I keep all destruction within / I keep all sympathy distant

Since then I shut myself out and away in the distance

Locked inside my mind / Afraid of all humankind
I fell under the pressure / Damaged by society's pleasure
I let go of all possessions / I threw away my humiliation

For I am no longer meant this world
I ripped your burdens away from my shoulders

I wore this pain like a crown / I was so broken
I kept on falling down / I felt my soul shattering

I couldn't hear anything / listening to my own twisted thoughts
I was blinded from everything / witnessing my own tragic downfall

I stopped dreaming of better days / I ceased believing long ago
My countless nightmares wouldn't fade / I was left in this dark world alone

I guess this is how I really pictured my own end
I just want it to finally be over with, I won't resent death

Whispers that no one hears

The world is deaf from despair

The sun becomes my throne

As I watch reality become undone

Someone can be another person's hero
If only love existed

Dusk will break with a darker tomorrow
Another day of being two-faced

Every second- a promise is broken
Every minute- a tear is taken

Every hour- a smile is forced
Every day- a child is born

I stitch my mouth shut / I finally had enough
Silence is my sin / Truth is my friend

Seal my eyes wide / Lies can finally hide
I will witness no evil / I will force another smile

Anyone can be someone's demon
Because greed insists it

No matter the years that pass me by,

It seems I am forever trapped.

For when it comes to deceiving myself,

I'm afraid I'm rather apt.

In the end the truth which I sought to avoid, is now knocking at my door...

A rabid rat that chews at me; one I can't ignore.

And though I might have grown this body, from the lonely years I've seen.

My abnormalities

Are seen as abominations among humanity

I'm a another stereotype labeled by society

Even though I'm trying my best to just be me

I may not walk the same
But I still have my own path

I have my own footsteps to make
And my own happiness to grasp

You see me how you want to
I am who I am

You have your own narrow point of view
But I am just another human

So many words to be said / So much hate to be meant
Lash out towards the difference / Guilt trip my already-clouded conscience

I am not the one who is typical
I choose to look a different way

You need to look in the mirror
And ask what does a dictator always say?
